I Thessalonians 2:8 - "We loved you so much that we delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us."
Christians need to be willing to invest their lives in others
So.... How do you become a Christian, or why should you?
The Law of God says that we are not to have any gods before the true god, don't make any idols (tv? computer?), Don't misuse the name of the Lord, Keep Sunday holy to God, Honor your parents do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not lie, do not covet, or lust after, what others have.(Exodus chapter 20),
Uh....oh.....but everyone's broke at least one of these rules....the scriptue even says "For all have sinned (broken God's law) and fallen short of the glory of God."- Romans 3:23
So what's the big deal....we've broken some rules. The Scripture says that nothing impure may enter the presence of God. So if we want eternal life in paradise with God, we would have to follow all of the rules that God laid down perfectly without one mistake. "For the wages of sin is Death...." Romans 6:23
This brings us to a problem, how can anyone go to heaven then? You see, there must be a sacrifice in our place so that we may enter heaven. But i can't be your sacrifice, I need someone to die in my place. So logically we see that the sacrifice must be perfect. God sent Jesus Christ to this earth so that he could give his life as "a ransom for many"....So you see, if you place your faith Jesus Christ, accepting the gift of God, through Jesus, God will choose to "look on him and pardon [you]" "For the wages of sin is DEATH, but the gift of God is eternal LIFE, through Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23
"What must I do to be saved"????????????????
"Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and you shall be saved." ---the book of Romans
Prayer is simply talking to God, so, if you wish to accept Jesus Christ right now as your personal savior, Pray this prayer: "God, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus came to this earth and died on the cross for me. I Pray that you would forgive me of my sins, and help me to live the kind of life that you would have me to live. Lord, thank you for your grace and your forgiveness. In Jesus Name, Amen."
If you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ today, praying that prayer asking for his grace, you have been saved from eternal death,in Hell, and some day you will be sitting before the throne of God, worshiping Him with the saints and angels in Heaven.
"8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– 9not by works, so that no one can boast." -
Ephesians 2:8-9
